Rivers Rerun: INEC declares election result, PDP defeats APC (See Full Result)

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has won the legislative rerun election in Rivers state.

The areas affected in the Etche State and Federal Constituency elections are: One (1) Local Government; Eighteen (18) Registration Areas, 147 Polling Units, 163 Voting Points, and 60, 874 Registered Voters.

The legislative election was to fill the Etche Constituency II seat in the House of Assembly and Etche/Omuma seat in the House of Representatives.

The election took place in 147 polling units in 19 Registration Areas in Etche and one polling unit (Umuogba Community I) in Omuma.

The opposition party won the election forEtche Constituency II seat in the House of Assembly and Etche/Omuma seat in the House of Representatives respectively.

INEC returning officer, Prof. Olushola Omotayo declared the result at the INEC collation centre in Okehi, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

According to the returning officer, candidate of the PDP, Jerome Eke polled 15,221 while his APC counterpart, Ogbonna Nwuke polled 6,220.

The PDP also won the election for Etche Constituency two with 4,210 votes over APC which polled 1,070.

Etche State Assembly 2:

 APC – 1,618

PDP – 4,162.

ETCHE/OMUMA FED HOUSE:

 APC – 6,220

PDP – 15,221.
